My public preview thread of comments

#1 Post by sjbildermann » 29.12.2010, 18:45

Testing under Win 7

- Would you please put the VERSION number on the website when we go to download. The date is not a good guide.
- Please complete the LAYOUT function as soon as possible.. It is essential to testing freeCommander XE under different setups. Also I am tired of reading WEIDERHERSTELLEN
- freeCommander XE hangs for about 15 secs if you try to access a network PC - It eventually opens the directory but it's SLOW
- Please give us much BETTER ICONS for the splitter (how about the old freeCommander splitter icons)
- Can't test SEARCH . Not implemented

Thank you for this preview.

Again please ADD version number for freeCommander XE at download

I have folders in LEFT pane and Contents in RIGHT Pane.

Have you tried the options at
Extras >>> Settings >>> View >>> File/Folder list >>> General
and
Extras >>> Settings >>> View >>> Tree >>> General ?

By the way: Such a thread with plenty of suggestions, comments and questions is dreadful.
If 10 people are answering or discussing all your topics, nobody can follow which topic is solved, accepted or declined.
Try to write threads like it's described in Forum Rules (Read First!) (http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9)
• Post different questions, issues, or suggestions in separate threads.

I can't follow your directions. Your directions are dreadful.

Does your suggestions allow me to have folders in left panel and the contents of those same folders open in the right panel.
And when I clck on a different folder in the left panel the contents are displayed in the right panel.

If you can do that and give me directions that are not dreadful I'll start posting my suggestions in separate threads,

How that?

Now I can't follow you. What do you mean?

Explorer has the tree on the left and the content on the right.
FC has two of these pane side by side.
Do you want to click on a folder in the tree of the first pane and see the content in the file window of the second pane?
What shall show the file window of the first pane and what the tree of the second pane?

Steve,

you can switch to Windows Explorer mode with View->Dual/One panel (Shift+Ctrl+F1).
In the release 522 you can not switch back from one to dual panel due to a bug (already fixed).
Switching in 520 works fine.
