give option of middleclick on folder name to open in new tab

I noticed that at most of the places, if not at all the places", clicking a folder name from a list of menu or button, opens that folder in the current tab only.

I also noticed that middleclick is not having any effect, means middle click is free and available to use.

That is sort of a consensus practice in browsers - to open a link in new tab at middle click, and to open the link in current tab at normal leftclick, so people are used to this practice, I guess.

Please give option of middleclick on a folder name to open the folder in new tab, while normal leftclick continues to open in current tab.

Thanks.

Please give option of middleclick on a folder name to open the folder in new tab
It works in the release 601.
Ctrl+middleclick opens the folder in the new tab in the other pane.

ok. thanks.

just a thought. sorry to be nagging.

when middleclick is unused and avlbl for this work, any particular reason for assigning a complicated ctrl+middleclick? :-)

anything that can be done with "only keyboard" or "only mouse" is always more convenient that anything that requires combination of keyboard+mouse.

Thanks.

Middleclick opens the folder in the new tab in the same pane.
Ctrl+middleclick opens the folder in the new tab in the other pane.

installed 601,

fav folder opening in new tab is not working
- middleclick doesn't open a fav folder in new tab in current panel.
- ctrl middleclick doesn't open a fav folder in new tab in other panel.

leftclick is opening it in current tab.

Thanks.

I assumed you are talking about the folders tree; you said nothing about the favorites tree in your initial post. But you are right, it doesn't work for the fav tree.

I think that was general behavior earlier.

now, middleclicking on a displayed folder name is opening it in new tab.

but, the same is not happening in favorite folders even now. middleclick has no effect on that, left click opens fav in current tab.

hope you would consider including fav folders also for "middleclick opens in new tab".

Thanks.

Middleclick and Ctrl+Middleclick implemented in the favorites tree - for the release 602.
