Open PDF files: problems?

#1 Post by prov » 11.12.2012, 10:22

Is my problem or there is really something wrong?

When I click on the PDF files try to download the file and does not even try to open it.

More... when we stepped on by scrolling with the arrow keys ... try to download it without even clicking!

Only happens with FreeCommander...

I confirm the problem and place an update that is helpful:
the problem occurs on all connected devices (USB harddisk and USB PenDisk) except that the files located on hard drive C: \ and on hard disk of the LAN.

No problem here (Adobe installed for PDF, what is your PDF software).
You could try:
- set the icons to "registered" or "fixed": Settings - File/folder list - Icons
- deactivate the option "Show files tooltip": Settings - File/folder list - General

I apologize ... but they are again in trouble.

I applied the suggestions but when I position it on a pdf file FcCommander try to download it.

A few weeks ago I thought I had solved the problem, but now I formatted the pc and now I see that no longer works ...

Please be patient ... you have any other suggestions for me?

Thanks!

I can open PDF files without a problem by double-clicking on them.
But if I use F3 View, then I get a File Download dialog "Do you want to save or open this file?" -- which is strange. This has been going on for many of the past releases. (FC 611, Win7/64)

You could use sLister plugin to view pdf files using the internal viewer (F3). But it is based on SumatraPDF so there is actually no advantage over using SumatraPDF as the default handler for pdf files in FCXE (Settings\Programs\Default action).

Thank you very much for your answers ...

I can provide additional information: I have found that if the folder of FreeCommander is on USB PenDisk the problem does not occur!

However, if the same folder on the hard disk is the problem persists...

This information can be useful to understand something?

When I open a PDF it brings up the download dialog. I've added my viewer, PDF-Xchange Viewer in the viewer, external viewer and default action.

Seemed to work for a while but now I can't get rid of it. It actually passes the file to PDF-Xchange Viewer, but the dialog is there.

Very aggrevating!

Other than this I'm very impressed with the program. I've used several file managers in the past and other than this problem, this is the best.

Thanks for your help!

Just upload them to some webhosting like imgur.com and post the links here.
