[Feature Request] drag&drop behaviour

#1 Post by emoxam » 06.10.2014, 15:06

Hi!
Situation 1. Explorer.
I select a few files at explorer, move aimp (audio player) to top and try to drag&drop files to aimp (to add them to playlist). In the moment of click aimp stays at the top.
Situation 2. Free Commander.
I select a few files at FC, move aimp (audio player) to top and try to drag&drop files to aimp (to add them to playlist). In the moment of click aimp goes to the background. So to add files to playlist i must click once more an then drag & drop files

can you make FC works just like explorer ?
Thanks!

Could you explain this please:

"move aimp (audio player) to top "

I tried to select files, and drag&drop to AIMP window, or AIMP favorite icon in FC, it works good in both cases..

"move aimp to top":
var 1. you may have 2 windows, one (explorer/FC) at left and aimp at right
var 2. you may have explorer/FC maximized (but at the background) and aimp at the top.
Here i show you what i mean in the var. 2 by a screenshot.

So if starting from situation at screenshot.
You see files at FC are selected. If you click on them the aimp goes to the backround. No matter the mouse key is still pressed and wasn't released!
Understand ?

Use Alt+Tab to switch to aimp after you have started drag&drop.

OK, another workaround, just select files and press Enter to add all files to AIMP playlist.

Do you really want me to press enter? Because we are taking about moment when aimp is on the top. Not fc! So to press enter I must first activate fc to top..

I am confused, do you understand the feauture I taking about?

@emoxam
I understand that you get used to such behaviour in explorer, but "move aimp (audio player) to top and try to drag&drop files to aimp (to add them to playlist)" - (IMHO) to many unnecessary actions.

The only thing you should do - 1) select a few files in Explorer (or FC XE)... 2) drag&drop to desired program Aimp (or any other audio player). It works without any problems (at least in FC XE 673 donor).

All the rest is done by you because you get used to it, but bear absolutely no sense!

It is standard behavior for all Windows programs. I think it is to much work to change it.

OK, but you have to activate FC first, then select the files and then activate AIMP and drag the files. Why not change this - activate FC, select files, run the files, activate AIMP.

Or another workaround, make AIMP always on top, perhaps semi-transparent.

Edit: I just tried the explorer, and it works like you said, but only the first time, second time, if I select another group of files, AIMP moves to background. I really don't understand, you have to activate FC/Explorer and select the files and then activate AIMP - it makes no sense to me.

Another workaround, AIMP has the global shortcuts, you can assign any hotkey for "minimize / maximize" as a global hotkey, then just press that hotkey to show/hide AIMP window.

For active window to stay on top see here -> http://www.howtogeek.com/196958/the-3-b ... n-windows/

You can use the command line options of that program. Simply select the files in FC and click enter.

I always check to see what command line are available for a software in order to integrate it in a favorite toolbar item.
