Cloning
Cloning
Would it be possible to have a cloning option with Free commander? It means: copy an archive on another having the same name; in it insert new files, update existing, skip identical, delete non existing on source? Or am I asking for something that exists already ?
Re: Cloning
It is impossible to append archives with the same name. It is even impossible to copy content from one opened archive to another with the same name.
It is very difficult to implement, because in any case it would be not direct copy operation, but unpacking from source archive and after it packing to target. It would work very slow because of unpacking/packing operations.
But you can add any desired (non packed files) to any archive (if plug-ins are installed, for example, for 7-zip format), have ability to insert new files, update existing.
But you can't skip identical files when copy to archive (there is still no overwrite dialog, file with the same name would be ovewritten without any confirmation).
