The number of active operations in the queue list has been added in the new version, it's a very useful feature, for me it's good, because I know what it means, but for other users it might be not so clear, just a single number.
Perhaps it would be better to add more information to this number, but I'm not sure what would be the best, what do you think?
- #3 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_sign )
- 3 items
- 3 operations
- 3 to go
- 3 remaining
- 3 items remaining
Alternatively, if the actual item progress bar could be moved to left side, like this, more options are possible:
[[]] [......23%......] of 3 - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] of 3 items - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] of 3 operations - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] 3 items - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] 3 items to go - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] 3 items remaining - Copy: FileABC.txt
Queue - number of active operations
Re: Queue - number of active operations
I do not think it is good. It make suggestion 23% of all operations and it is not true.[[]] [......23%......] of 3 - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] of 3 items - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] of 3 operations - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] 3 items - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] 3 items to go - Copy: FileABC.txt
[[]] [......23%......] 3 items remaining - Copy: FileABC.txt
The progress bar shows percent only for currently running operation.
For me 3 or #3 is enough as info about the queue size. Move the mouse cursor above the number and you can see the hint with more details.
Re: Queue - number of active operations
You are right about the first one, might be confusing.
I try to think as normal user, regarding the tooltip hint, it's very useful, but even I didn't know about it, so what about normal users.
The problem is, that the number of operations is not stable, if one operation is completed, it's just removed, then any number of new operations can be added, so the number may by changed like this: 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 5, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2....

What about this?
...or simply, just with the "fake" second progress bar:
Later it could be improved, added real progress bar, time remaining and so on...
For me, the current state is enough, finally we don't have to wait, or use file containers, just a single click and we can copy anything easily, but I just care about the "normal" users.
Any ideas how to make this as clear as possible to normal users are more than welcome.

Code: Select all
Copying Fileabc.exe ... [###__ 23% ____] [##__ 3 items __]
