"Focus item (NC-mode only)" works also in non-NC-Mode

#1 Post by Dreamer » 27.11.2016, 14:31

Settings → Select items → General → By click on item icon → "Focus item (NC-mode only)" option works the same also if NC-Mode is not used, the same for option "By click on extension or free space in label"

If single click options are use or not, those focus options works the same in non-NC-mode.

I'm not sure if it works the same with all Windows versions, I'm using Windows 10 64 bit Home, FC 730 donor. If so, then "Focus item (NC-mode only)" option should be changed to "Focus item" only. It's the default option and it might be confusing for some users, because it looks it affects only NC-Mode.

Perhaps I'd change also this option:

"Open item (for open with single click)"

This option depends on other options above (Open file/folder with single click), so if those options are enabled, the text is correct, but if those options are disabled, the text is incorrect, the item is only focused in this case.

I suggest to change this option to something like this:

"Default action (depends on settings above)"
or...
"Focus / Open item (depends on settings above)"

And make it the default option, so if someone wants to enable "single click" option(s), it will be working for whole file, so not just for the filename, but also for icon and extension. Currently, if user wants to enable single click options, he needs to change 4 options.

If this option would be enabled by default, it would be no difference for current behavior, items would be just focused by single click, but it would help if someone wants to use the single click options.

Any suggestions are welcome.
