I've been using FreeCommander for several years (currently on Build 904 64-bit donor) but there's one thing I've not been able to nail down. I'd like to configure it so it starts up with the same default settings (including tabs, folder locations and so on) no matter where nor how it was when shut down. I can get it like I want it, save Settings, etc., but quite often when I restart there are extra tabs, some of them are on folders rather than the drive root (where I saved them), etc., etc.
What preference (or combination of settings) controls this? What am I missing? Mostly it's extra tabs and the "wrong" folder locations.
Thanks.
How to configure start-up defaults?
Re: How to configure start-up defaults?
By restart you mean simply closing and reopening of FreeCommander - or closing FC, resetting the operating system and having FC run automatically after system loads up?
Re: How to configure start-up defaults?
Lock basic tabs and use option "Close all not locked tabs when the program ends" in Settings - View - Folder tabs - Tab Management.
Re: How to configure start-up defaults?
Yeah, that basically does it at least for the tabs. It still focuses a different tab when restarted, from what was focused when I saved settings but that's minor. At least the number and location of the tabs is now consistent.
Thanks.
