Re: External program for folder comparison
You can't define an external program for folder comparison
but its easy to define a favorite toolbar entry for any program you like.
I'm using Beyond Compare for example.

Re: External program for folder comparison
There's no better than Beyond Compare for disk, file and folder comparison.
In FreeCommander I have a Favourite Tool set up to call Beyond Compare with the Parameters "%LeftSel% %RightSel%". I have a folder or disk or file in both panes selected and then click on the toolbar button. Beyond Compare opens up and compares the 2 items.
You could also have parameters such as "%ActivSel%" for two files selected in the same pane. Depends on how you work.

Thank you for your answer!
I added a new toolbar with a Beyond Compare button and all works as expected.
However the new toolbar (with a single button) is on a second row under the "standard" toolbar. There is a way to add the new toolbar on the same row as the standard toolbar? Or can I create a single button with the same behaviour (without create a new tollbar) and add this button somewhere in the standard toolbar?
I know that this is "basic" Freecommander functions, but I can know how...

Right click on toolbar

added question:
is it right that the commercial version of "Beyond Compare" is meant?
I think if you don't want to use FC-internal Synchronize ther are a lot of open source or freeware alternatives
(e.g. https://www.netzwelt.de/alternative-zu/ ... mpare.html)
