Drag and drop from archives (zip, 7z, etc) stopped working

#1 Post by REVerdi » 27.04.2020, 02:18

Drag and drop from archives (zip, 7z, etc) stopped working. I don't know from which version it stopped working.

By the way: it would be great if FreeCommanderXE was already configured to access 7z files. For the average user, it is very hard to configure Total7zip (in addition to finding it).

Which version are you using?

With 818 donor 64-bit it works with zip file, always.

With 7z it doesn't work, but it works if holding Ctrl while dragging, or if "Use blocking transfer" is disable (no need to use Ctrl while dragging).

I'm using version 818 x64 portable donor.

To find out which version drag and drop stopped working, I did the following:
I "reinstalled" version 816 and the problem persisted.
I "reinstalled" version 814 and the problem is gone.
I "reinstalled" versions 816 and 818 and the problem no longer occurred.
I can't explain what happened. Perhaps some failure in copying the files when updating the portable version. Anyway, the problem is gone.

Thank you for the answer.

I reinforce the suggestion that FreeCommanderXE is already configured to use the 7z format (and the other formats that the 7z dll supports).

OK, considered this as fixed, topic closed.
