FC crashes

#1 Post by x20 » 24.07.2020, 16:21

Hi there, is it possible to activate a log or crashreport? Windows event log isn't helpful here.
My FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 824 64-bit donor crashes when I try to open a folder.
This folder contains 3,65 GB CD images (filetypes: .mdf / .mds / .bin / .cdt / .cue / .jpg / .pdf / .nrg).
Windows Explorer and Altap Salamander can open this directory.

I already uninstalled FC and reinstalled without my settings.

FC portable 64-bit also crashes, the 32-bit version not.

This strange problem only exists on my desktop pc, on the notebook I can open this directory. Both are running on Win 10 Pro 2004 64-bit.

If the exception is in FreeCommander you should find fc_bugreport.txt or FcExceptionLog.txt.
Search for the files in install or Settings folder.
It would be useful to know what is in the Windows event log.
You could check if maybe you can open the folder with the portable version http://freecommander.com/en/faq-freecom ... l-portable

Imho it wasn't a FC related problem.

I found another folder wich caused a crash. There where also a .mdf and a .mds (Alcohol 120% files) inside. So I moved these two files to another folder and sucessfully opened the first with FC. So I tried to open the second folder and there was no problem. Then I opened the folder from yesterday and this worked too.

Maybe it was a problem between Windows and Alcohol 120%. Event log reported only info 1001 "AppHangB1" and error 1002 with unknows reason.
