841 - Folder changes when moving file

#1 Post by Free4all » 06.02.2021, 12:16

FC 841 Donor 64-bit Win7

I haven't had enough spare time to generate a 100% STR for this yet, so here is a basic description of the issue:

When two panes are displayed, and the focus in on a file in the top pane, SOMETIMES using the toolbar button to move the file to the bottom pane causes the active folder of the source pane to change.

I've witnessed this hundreds of times, so I'm sure it's an issue, but I have not had enough time to create a situation where it happens 100% of the time.

In Settings, the "Windows" method for file operations is selected. The move operation is being performed on the same physical non-network drive, but I'm not sure if the source and destination have to be the same or different partitions on that drive, or if it irrelevant to outcome.

Change how? It will be hard to reproduce, if I can't reproduce it at least once.

If you use vertical layout, can you reproduce it too?

FC either goes up one folder level in the folder hierarchy, or to the top level.

Sorry, I don't use the vertical layout, so I don't know if it ever happens with that layout.

BTW, I use the "Move" toolbar button that has the handy little red overlay arrow to indicate the direction the file is moving. I love that feature. :P
