1. Search say, some .txt files
2. Once the search has finished select 1 and then press F4.
3. That's all good.
4. Select two files and press F4.
5. That's all not good.
6. Only the last selected gets opened.
Selecting more than one file doesn't work to edit in the search dialog as it does from the main UI.

Confirmed, 845.
Workaround, export to file container, Ctrl+E (all), or Ctrl+S (selected only), select the files and press F4.
