Freezes on UNC path

Beta 548 seems to freeze while accessing a UNC path to a Windows Server. It isn't hanging, it's just taking a very long time to connect. I know old FC would connect to the same path in a heartbeat.

Wow, this sure is slow. It takes about a minute for FC to resolve the location of the network address. It will change folders, but it hangs there.

Hello! The problem persists into the latest Beta 550.

Could you please check the current release 551.

Hello! Thanks for the update. I tried it out with the new version and it still freezes. It takes around a minute for it to realize itself. Doesn't seem any different than the previous version.

On my PC, new version 551 simply does nothing with a network drive (i.e. typing \\server does nothing); previous version was slow, as other users noticed.

Salvete! Okay, I had a network folder open in my active pane, and I clicked the tree button (mistake!) FCXE (558) froze, and came back to itself several minutes later. FC is slow when I navigate up and down network folders too, by double-clicking in the white area. However, if I have a network folder location in my "favourites", it jumps to it instantly! Also, the forward and back buttons work instantly too. It also works instantly if I go to a network folder from one of the buttons or menus in my favourite toolbars. But if I type the path into the address bar, or navigate by double-clicking, sometimes it hangs forever and a day.

Arrrgh! I changed tabs (leaving my network dir tree open), and changed windows, then came back to FCXE, clicked on that network tab with the tree and - the tree has to resolve itself again - another five minutes!

Aaah! I see something. Okay, to prevent closing the tree with its displayed network folder in one panel, I opened a local folder in the other panel. Now when I turned the tree on for that panel, it showed, but it also CHANGED the tree in the other panel to the default \\My Computer tree; now it is trying to reload the tree for the network folder open in its tab. That will take another 5 minutes.
I have "a tree for each tab", and "a tree for each panel" options set.

If you agree, I could build a profile version for getting more info - what is slow.

Marek, I know you sent me a debug version for 552 - which I still have - would you like me to try with that? Is that the same as a profile version?

No, with the profile version I can see exactly what is slow - I hope
.
I could send you such version in the next days.

Marek, I'm game if you are. What is a profile version? If you have TeamViewer, we can do a remote desktop session, I don't mind.

Maybe there could be some key command, such as pushing {escape} that would exit the current thread in case FC is not reacting to the last given command?
