Favourite folders not being saved

#1 Post by Bill » 26.08.2011, 22:54

Windows 7, 64 bit, freeCommanderXE 551

I can see they are being saved to the ini file but after restarting freeCommander the list is empty.

Thanks.

Not confirmed.

Check what .ini file is used (and its properties) by FC in Help\Info.

The Info window shows me C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Local\freeCommanderXE\Settings\FreeCommander.ini. I can see the list of favourite folders in this file under [FcFavoriteFolders_Active]. When I add a new folder I see it's appended to the list but after I close and reopen the program the list is empty in freeCommander. I'm using the computer as Administrator. The properties of the .ini file are only the archive bit (A). I'm perplexed. It used to work fine. Is there a setting I've turned off?

How do you open the favourite folder list? Try with Alt+Up.
If the list is empty you could send me your freecommander.ini.

I believe I have found the answer. The first folder in my favourites list is c:\users\Bill\[Music] - (with the square brackets - I like this folder to sort at the top in Explorer.) The bracketed folder name seemed to confuse freeCommander's ini file. I changed it to simply Music and all's well. Thanks for your patience Marek!
