Favorites Tree Stuck

#1 Post by BGM » 28.10.2012, 04:58

Salvete! I was playing around with Powerpro, and somehow got the Favorites Tree in FreeCommanderXE to be stuck at the full size of the FC window. If I have it toggled on, I can't see any of the folder panels!

Where is the setting to control the size of the Favourites Tree width?

Works fine for me, on my system I can varify the size of the favorites tree with the mouse.

Well, I'm not quite sure how I got it that way. But whenever I toggle it ON, it takes up both folder panels and there doesn't seem to be any controls anywhere to resize it. If I toggle it OFF, I can see the folder panes, but I can't see any way to get it back to normal size.

I looked through the ini files, but couldn't find any setting that seems to fit.

Any clues, folks?

Have you tried to resize the panel with the mouse by dragging the right border?
I can also make the favorites tree as large as the whole window but I can drag the right border back with the mouse.

Ha ha! That's just the problem! There's nothing to drag - the splitter is missing - there IS NO border! I can resize the entire window, but that's all. It used to work just as you are describing, but I was messing around with some reserved desktop space and got things out of whack. The reserve space is fixed, but the favourites tree has suffered.

Is there a setting somewhere in the ini files to remember the width of the favourites tree? It may be that the width of the favourites tree is wider than FreeCommander.

Ah! That gives me an idea!
Okay, I used Winspy++ and found out that the width of the favourites panel was set to 5094! The splitter for the panel would be at the far end, and FC is only maximized to the width of the monitor at 1920 - hence, no splitter to drag for resize.

Now, where can I find some setting so I can change 5094 to 300?

Check the line (% value):
TreePanelWidth=

Solved: Favorites Tree Stuck

#7 Post by BGM » 29.10.2012, 16:47

Thanks! That did it! It was set to 277. I had seen that setting, but thought it meant pixels instead of percent.

So I closed FC, set it to 75 and restarted FC, and now I have the splitter!

Okay, it is back to normal now!

Is this something that Marek could fix to change values >100 into =100? If that were assured, nobody would ever lose their splitter bar.

Thanks, Karol.

Yes, it is fixed for the release 605.

I hope, you have well got over the "Sandy".

Thanks, Marek. (I'm not sure what a "sandy" is, however)

Oh, sorry! Our religious rule prohibits the television, and I don't read news on the internet, so I get out of touch sometimes. Thanks!
