clicking close while formatting a hdd

xe 601 on w7.

I inserted a new pen drive to usb port,
from fc rightclick, selected to format it.
fc started formatting that.

In the meantime, I happened to click on fc close X icon at the top left.
and fc closed.
and formatting also closed.

I guess it is somewhat odd. formatting is an important activity and cutting it short like this might damage the drive getting formatted. so don't allow formatting to get interrupted by closure of other windows.

at best, when other windows of fc are open, give some kind of warning and seek approval from user before closing each of those windows and aborting the activity going on in those.
