690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
The feature to show the standard context menu upon right click in empty space was added in version 690.
But a right click opens context menu for the currently selected file, not the one for emtpy space. Plus the context menu is opened at the position of the file, not the mouse cursor.
context options who apply to folders are missing (for example "new", svn update, ect)

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
Confirmed for build 700.
IMHO the behaviour should be adapted to that from Windows Explorer: When the right-click occurs on empty space instead of a file/folder, a different menu should be shown.
At the moment, I cannot use the "New > New text file" menu option.

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
Set 'RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=1' and it would be possible to use the "New > New text file" menu option.
I think that it is impossible to use menu accurate as in Explorer. So if you set option to 1, FC XE menu is used, that have all items you want.

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
I have set RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0 on purpose as the FC XE menu doesn't have all items that I want =)
FC has to know which file has been clicked, so it also shouldn't be a problem to show a different menu when the free space has been clicked.

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
As I already wrote 'RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=1' is set in my config
Look at screenshot http://snag.gy/vc1AX.jpg
When I right click on a free space, I see FC XE context menu that have much more items then Explorer has.

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
I think this bug is being misunderstood by some. Here is the actual problem:
1. Create folder foo
2. Under folder foo, create file bar.txt
3. Navigate into folder foo
4. Right-click in empty space of folder
Expected result:
Standard windows context menu for folder foo is shown
Actual result:
Standard windows context menu for file bar.txt is shown

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
edit: @Timon
Then you should set "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" as this is what this thread is about.
Then you should set "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" as this is what this thread is about.
Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
Have anyone looked at my screenshot http://snag.gy/vc1AX.jpg
All described by @budokaiman could be done with 'RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=1'
As I already said, standard Explorer context menu for folder could not be shown, because it has such items as View, Arrange icons, Refresh and Setting folder view... for Explorer. Instead of it, FC XE shown its own context menu that have even more items View, Sort by, Filter, Favorites and even Context menu... with many subitems!
Of course, if you set 'RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0' you have context menu for files only.

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
@Timon: Please understand that we want the setting "0" - not "1" as you.
edit: and no, that will not be "for files only"

Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
But now that problem is not discussed by you anymore, because, as you can see, FC XE has more options in its context menu.I have set RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0 on purpose as the FC XE menu doesn't have all items that I want =)
I understand what you want, and understand that you want it with option set to 0. I already gave you answer why it works in such a way. And gave a workaround - how to make it work with option set to 1.
Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
No, you apparently don't understand as you insist on using "1". But I give up trying to explain it to you...
Re: 690 - "RightClickEmptySpaceFcMenu=0" shows context
@Marek: is it possible to have a similar behavior as with the 64 bit context menu for XEx86 on 64 bit OS? Meaning having the empty space XE menu showing when holding Win key, and windows context menu otherwise?
