Startup crash

#1 Post by -zs- » 21.07.2015, 19:17

Hi Marek,

After an automatic update to my W7 system Freecommander 64 donor version stopped working. I can not start the program after uninstall and reinstalling with the setup downloaded from "FreeCommander XE 2015 - release 693 donor".

I also wanted to upload a screenshot attached to this post, but jpg and PDF extensions are not allowed. Just wondering what is allowed?

Here is a link to the screenshot https://www.dropbox.com/s/8i7o0zwt5z65p ... 4.jpg?dl=0

Thx, Zoltan

Check the Windows Logs in the Event Viewer.
You can attach PNG images.

The crash is not directly in FreeCommander but in Windows ntdll.dll.
Ask the google for https://www.google.de/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Exc ... 0xc0000374.

Try to start FreeCommander with empty freecommander.ini.

This did the trick. I have found 5 different freecommander.ini files in my user folder. Emptying all, now all my customization is gone. A lot of work.

Thank you.

Further problems:

- After starting with the default, the app comes up.
- Clicking on the Tree view, the app is crashing again.

Additional note: You should adjust the file upload restrictions of this forum, it is useless now.

I will email you the screenshot.

I had a similar issue are installing version 695 Free Commander was crashing on start-up. I re-installed it but then when I tried to import my settings back-up it crashes.

Started off without any settings import and now when I tried to "view-> Tree" the app crashes. This was while the left panel was selected. Tried this with the right panel selected and it worked!

But then when I try to add the Tree panel for both Left and Right main panel, it crashes.

Could you show or send me the screenshot from the tree in Windows Explorer and in FreeCommander? All drives should be visible.

Hi Marek,

I found some AppCrash folders with .wer files in them. I'll upload some of those files here.

I'm not sure if the upload works, but i'll paste one of the codes here. From what I read and assume, seems like the exception code is c0000374.

Code: Select all

Has any progress been made in determining the cause of the crash when turning on the tree view? I've had this issue for the last couple of builds, and currently I'm running with my config without the tree-view but I definitely miss it.
