- use NC mode
- go to settings > programs > editors
- create these 2 filters and place them as first/second item:
*.bmp;*.gif;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.png;*.tga;*.tif;*.tiff

- place multiple image files and one zip file in the folder, e.g.:
aaa.png, bbb.png, ccc.png, zzz.zip
- select first 3 files with Insert key, so that 3 image files will be selected and the focus will be on file zzz.zip
- now press F3
= first selected image file aaa is opened in viewer (correct)
- press Enter and confirm the dialog, click Yes
= 3 image files are opened in default image viewer (correct)
- now press F4
= error dialog is opened, that "file AAA.png can't be opened as archive"
You can use any image editor, any archive program and any image/archive or non image files.

The editor is always determined from the focused element.
So you have two options:
- use %ActivItem%
- move the focus to one of the selected items
