Document occupies only a quarter of the viewer pane

I have posted this before but no action has been taken, so I think that I need to post it again. I have a laptop with a UHD resolution panel. FC's viewer (both free standing and in the pane) cannot fully display documents (any format!). The document occupies only about a quarter (or even less) of the viewer pane. This is a Win10 Pro machine: the CPU is an Intel Core i7-8650U 37, the GPU is the AMD Radeon RX 540 (4GB GDDR5) 101; the display is 15.6”, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160), IPS. Any information or suggestions would be welcome!!!
