Is there any directions on translating freecommander XE?

#1 Post by yylz » 04.01.2011, 05:24

Hi,

everyone. Happy new year!

I post the news of freecommander XE's release. Some users ask if there is any directions on how to translate it?

If there is anyone who knows please tell me.

Best regards!

You have to translate the "english.lng" file found in "lng" folder, rename it to your language and select it in settings:

XE is not ready for translation now. I plan to make FreeCommander XE translable in the next months.

I've found some of the text to be German.

From the FC homepage:

What is planned:

* File searching (inside archive too)
* Multiple language support
* Content plugins
* Multi rename tool
* Wipe files
* Create and verify MD5 checksums
* File splitting
* Folder synchronization
* Layouts
* Screenshots
* FTP client

Hi.

I'm ready for Italian translation.

@AMrek
Please send me a PVT with info where I can send you the translation.

@For all trasnaltor.
To convert the FreeCommander languages to Freecomander XE it's very simple.

Use the freeware IniTransl Util by Hexagora. With this application you ave a lot of time.

Copy your language of Freecomander (not XE) into Freecomannder XE language folder.
Load English language of Freecomander XE and your languages of Freecomander (not XE).

Most the strings already translated.
The application show it which strings are empry and which strings are not translated.

Edit your language and save it.

That's all.

Hi,

I've uninstalled FC, deleted old program files\FC and install FC XE.

So i've used a non-XE french.lng + XE english.lng from LNG subfolder with IniTransl Util by Hexagora.

I set the language in Extras/Settings/Language but it does nothing = not any word are translated, ive also checked the file, any idea ?

Thx
