584 - Location Configuration Files

#1 Post by Ernie5335 » 06.04.2012, 20:34

Now we can choose the location for the configuration files. I've checked the option "FreeCommander install folder" and it works great. Settings are now stored in C:\...\Utilities\FreeCommanderXE\Settings
That's the way I like it, but anyway still FC creates the folder: C:\Documents and Settings\...\Local Settings\Application Data\FreeCommanderXE - After deleting, it will be back and although FC leaves this folder empty, I think there's no need for creating this folder now.
I say, what a day...

you're right, C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\FreeCommanderXE folder is recreated although "FC install folder" has been selected.

I don't see what the problem is. An empty folder is 0 bytes.

The problem is the "stealth" factor of a portable app. It's nice to leave no traces, especially on computers at work/school.
