root folder (eg. c: or d:) no longer displayed in FC caption.

It works correctly for me in 598 (installed, not portable), Win7-64.
I presume you have [drive] [folder] selected in Settings > View > "Main Window Title"?

no mine is set to [folder]. With this setting only the actual folder is displayed,
I tend to believe that the root folder/directory should be displayed as well with setting, what do you think?

I agree, fixed for the release 599.
