They are visible in the status bar and in Build 2009.02b.

Interesting. The bars appear correctly for me in 611, Win7.

It is indeed interesting!

Further troubleshooting has revealed that this is not explicitly an FC setting (reverted to default profile by deleting %userprofile%\Application Data\FreeCommanderXE), but there is some difference between FC XE and the previous release using the same visual settings for XP. Activating the XP setting "use visual styles for windows and buttons" ["Visuelle Stile für Fenster und Schaltfläche verwenden"] makes the header spacers visible again in FC XE!

However, as mentioned, even with this XP setting deactivated, the status bar spacers are visible (when activated in FC XE) and the header spacers are visible in 2009.02b.

What is triggered by the FC XE setting "StatusBarShowSpacer=1" and could a similar setting be used to force the header spacers?

Now that's impressive troubleshooting -- congratulations!

Column separators have returned! Thanks for the fix!
