unpack with other name doesn't work

#1 Post by Timon » 16.10.2014, 11:28

FC XE 673 donor
NC-mode
Use FreeCommander for cope/move/delete is used

Try to open any archive with Ctrl-PageDown. Select any file in archive and press F5 on it to copy file (unpack) to other panel. In "Target" change file name or extension to any other.

For example, from "test.zip" try to copy "1.txt" to another panel with new name "2.jpg"
You'll see that "1.txt" was unpacked instead of "2.jpg". If "1.txt" already exist in target we'll see overwrite dialog.

If we change path in Target - it changes, but not name or extension!

Various file managers behave different in such situations.
In FC XE
when folder is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\*.*
when file is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\filename.ext (file could not be extracted to different name)

In Total Commander
when file or folder is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\ (file or folder could not be extracted to different name)

In Multi Commander
when folder is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\
when file is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\filename.ext (file could be extracted to different name)

In Double Commander
when folder is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\*.*
when file is copied from archive - target is shown C:\12345\filename.ext (file could be extracted to different name)
