Delete last item - jump to parent folder

#1 Post by Timon » 02.04.2017, 19:34

FC XE 743 donor 32-bit under Windows XP
List view and NC-mode are used

As far as I can remember, this problem is very old, but I forgot to report it. If you delete a file, the FC XE goes to the next file in the list - this is what all file managers do. But if you delete the last file in the list, FC XE goes to parent folder .., but all the other file managers go to the previous file in the list in that case.
FC XE behavior in case of deleting last file is very annoying, especially if file list is quite large.

Confirmed, also the focus is lost, it's out of the panel, in folder with many files or/and in a small FC window.

Original bug fixed in 744 test version (not released yet).

New related bugs (only in 744 test version 64 bit - not released yet, please don't try to reproduce in official version 744 donor 32/64 bit):

For testing create a folder with 9 files 1.txt, 2.txt ... 9.txt. Switch to list view. Use NC-Mode and "Use FC" operation for Delete.

#1
- select files 7 and 8 with Insert key
- focus must be on 9.txt
- press Delete key
= focus is lost completely

#2
- select files 5 and 6
- focus must be on 7.txt
- press Delete key
= focus is on file 9.txt (should be on 7)
or...
- select files 2, 3 and 4
- focus must be on 5.txt
- press Delete key
= focus is on file 8.txt (should be on 5)
