RESOLVED - shortcut folder links do not open on single click with same setting enabled

I've the setting for opening folders with single clicks like so:
But when clicking on the space where the arrow lies, the single click does not work.
I'm aware that it's a file but it links to a folder. Could this behaviour be changed?
