please share your plan to give us a 64 bit fc.

No problem if it is not due yet, not even thought about yet, just tell us the current status if ok with you.

Thanks.

Hi, what's the problem with your 64b FC?
My FcXE beta version works perfectly well on my 64bits laptop.

there is no problem of any kind whatsoever.

Still, task manager in w7-64 bit shows freecommander *32 bit, and its files are saved in program files (x86). That reminds that it is a 32 bit app on a 64 bit o.s.

@Drool, vsrawat - no, there *are* a few 64bit issues. Try the control panel button in your toolbar. Also, running as a 32bit app requires certain "patches" (for the context menu, for example) in order to interact with 64bit objects. Then there is the fact that you can't access the system32 folder by that name, but must substitute sysnative instead. There are some other things, too, and I am sure Marek is very aware.

I really don't know any of such issue. glad that Marek knows and understands them.

no urgency because firefox, thunderbird, chrome are also in 32 bit and have no plans currently to go 64 bit. ie is one up in typical perseverance of MS that they have 64 bit, but my w7-64 bit has an ie-32bit and also an ie-64bit for the heck of it, and I am not allowed to uninstall either. :-)

it is just the duty of us - free users - to poke the developers for any wave that comes in our brain. :-)

The main reason why I would appreciate a 64 bit version is because my primary use case for using a 3rd party file manager is WinPE where there is no "explorer" to utilize.

And in 64 bit WinPe one does not have a 32 bit environment to use at all.
