As far as I know, the only way to select items "via keyboard" is if NC-mode is enabled (Settings > Select Items). Then the Spacebar can be used to select items. This works fine for me in 613, Win7/64.
Could you describe what you are doing when you try to select items? Thanks.

I just move down with the arrow key and then I try to select the elements with space
I thought that it was also possible to select the elements with space without NC-Mode
BTW:
I have tested this with Win7 and Win8

Re: Multiselect via keyboard does not work in 613
Selection by spacebar is one of the defining features of Norton Commander, hence in NC-mode in FC. If you turn off NC-mode, spacebar does not select elements; instead, selection works as in Windows Explorer. That has been true at least back to FC2009.

When you select a file in windows explorer and you hold the CONTROL key, you can select further elements via space.Selection by spacebar is one of the defining features of Norton Commander, hence in NC-mode in FC. => This does not work in FC. So I think your comment is not correct. Am I wrong or did I misunderstood you?

Hold Ctrl -> hit Down arrow -> hit Space => in FC XE the next file is not selected, while in WE it is.
But is the General selecting mode supposed to mimic WE behavior?
Re: Multiselect via keyboard does not work in 613
In my opinion, there should at least be *some* way to do multi-select via the keyboard without Norton Commander mode (I never use that). I would expect to be able to do it with the spacebar, however - that seems to me the most intuitive way.Hold Ctrl -> hit Down arrow -> hit Space => in FC XE the next file is not selected, while in WE it is.
