Re: FCXE english help-file
FCXE is a 32-bit program; there is no 64-bit version. However, the help file has a section on running FCXE in Windows x64. See http://www.freecommander.com/fcHelpXE/e ... wsx64.htmlhorst.epp wrote:This help file should be updated to mention the x64 version of FCXE.
A CHM version of the help file is available for download here:alf5000 wrote:Please can someone tell me where to download ENGLISH FreeCommander.chm for FCXE.

Re: FCXE english help-file
There is a 64 bit version of FC XE, but it is in beta stage, so there is no need to be mentioned in the help file yet.

I don't agree.joby_toss wrote:There is a 64 bit version of FC XE, but it is in beta stage, so there is no need to be mentioned in the help file yet.
There many users searching for x64 versions of file management programs.
Why should it be a secret even it is still in beta.
Btw. the x64 version is as stable as the x86 beta and I'm using it for daily work.

Re: FCXE english help-file
To give this some historical perspective, FCXE was available in stable beta for five years before any help file was available. A developer may have a number of reasons for not documenting a certain feature while in progress; for example: not wanting to deal with user problems and bug reports before something is truly finished, or not wanting to repeatedly edit the help file as a feature changes. So I don't find this unusual at all, and it is in accord with Marek's pattern in the past. Calling the 64-bit version a "secret" is simply your point of view, and may not represent Marek's intention at all. And the fact that you find it stable does not mean he is ready to go public with it, nor has any obligation to do so. If the version isn't public, then I wouldn't expect it to be in the public help file. Another way to look at it is: The current help file descibes the current public version.horst.epp wrote:Why should it be a secret even it is still in beta.

That being said, any donor is welcome to try the 64-bit beta with the understanding that it is a beta. Betas generally come without documentation (among other possible limitations), so I hope you can take that all into account and be patient for now.
