682 - Send multiple files to email client doesn't work

#1 Post by Dreamer » 29.01.2015, 21:08

- right click on the favorite toolbar and select "Customize fav. toolbars"
- create new item
- select your email client in Program or folder
- type %ActivSel% within the Parameter field
- enable Show in - Toolbar option
- select a Hotkey too, if needed (Ctrl+0 - Ctrl+9 are available)
- select multiple files in the file list
- now press the shortcut, toolbar button or drag&drop to fav. toolbar button
= only the first file is added to the attachment field

The same way using other programs works good, e.g. AIMP and mp3 files, PSPad and text files...

It is not a bug.
%ActivSel% create parameter list as: filepath1 filepath2 filepath3 ...
Some programs may not support such list, for example Thunderbird.
For the next release I have made some changes for favorite tools so that we can define the list such: filepath1,filepath2,filepath3,....

In the 686 release it should be possible.
For Thunderbird we have now two options:
1. Define favorite tool with
Program: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"
Parameter: -compose "subject=Sending files,body='%ActivSelName%',attachment='%ActivSel%'"
Delimiter character for selected items: ,
Enclose each selected item with " - must be unchecked

2. Define favorite tool with
Program: C:\Users\xxxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo\Mail Recipient.MAPIMail
Parameter: %ActivSelAsDrag&Drop%

I think I've found a bug in that setting:

2. Define favorite tool with
Program: C:\Users\xxxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo\Mail Recipient.MAPIMail
Parameter: %ActivSelAsDrag&Drop%

if nothing is selected but the mouse-cursor sits on parent folder ".." then FCXE crashes on my machine
(win10pro x64) - (latest FCXE x64 portable)

First option works good, thanks, Marek. Tested with Thunderbird Portable 31.4.0. Path of the thunderbird.exe must be used in this case.

I can't test the second option, because I can't change the default program for emails, since I use the portable version.

BTW This should be added to the topic FreeCommander XE "not so obvious" settings, once the public version will be released.

Confirmed and fixed.

In addition: the second option with Parameter: %ActivSelAsDrag&Drop% works with folders too.
You can define favorite tool as folder and as parameter %ActivSelAsDrag&Drop% - the copy operation will be executed if you drop some items on the favorite tool button.
