FTP - Will it come back?

#1 Post by Mr-Fly » 09.08.2014, 12:53

Hey,

Is FTP anywhere in the near future?
I really miss it, as it always was a great feature to quickly copy some files over firewalls.
Using Webdav for example always results in the login window be openen in explorer, after i ave authenticated, i can then use it in freecommander. But often this can lead to error.
FTP is also rock stable in my eyes.

Regards
Thorsten

What is "in the near future" :).
I think, FTP will be in the next year implemented.

Hello what is the status of implementing the FTP ??

This is the main feature that I'm missing in this file manager. Other than that it's great.

Dear Marek,
I've used the other familiar "PAID File Manager", for almost 6 years. Very frequently I'll check your releases to see if you have added some important features that I'm addicted. Thank you so much for the latest release, I've dumped the old one, happily now. Will follow your forum more frequently!

I would like to know, if "next year", which is basically "this year" is still current?
I REALLY miss the fast option to do a ftp connect.
But if you do, please include all the secure variants, because they become more and more important.

I'm also eagerly waiting for re-activation of FTP in XE :)

Cześć Marek, thanks for your effort invested for the tool I use since 5 years now (or even more...).

But the question is one, the "next year" is passing, is there any news regarding FTP?
Sorry for bothering, I know that implementing takes a lot of energies, I ask just to know and not to make you hurry or so.
I am still using freecommander 2009 because of FTP, but now that looks quite old compared to the new version, that I cannot use because of this functionality missing...

My plans for the next time:
- next days: public beta without ftp
- November: donor preview with ftp
- January: public release without ftp (and probably public beta with ftp)
