Unable to launch the program
Unable to launch the program
FreeCommander XE Build 715 donor 64-bit, Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit
I downloaded the 64-bit donor version yesterday. After installation, it works for a while. However, after I closed the window, it could never be launched again.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Browse into "C:\Program Files\FreeCommander XE"
2) Double clicks on "FreeCommander.exe"
Then I have an error dialog
The application was unable to start correctly(0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

Re: Unable to launch the program
Did you check the Windows Events Log?
This Error Code means: 0xC000007B STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT which may indicates that some files were corrupted.

Re: Unable to launch the program
Then what files are corrupted? I've tried to delete everything and re-install the program. But I still see the same problem. Probably means the corrupted file is not one of the FreeCommander files. Right?Karol wrote:Did you check the Windows Events Log?

Re: Unable to launch the program
Yes, it is possible.
What about Windows Event Logs?

Re: Unable to launch the program
@guogin: latest donor version available "yesterday" (when you downloaded) was 730. Are you sure you got 715? Try to download it again (try also the portable version).
Re: Unable to launch the program
I failed to find such entry in the windows event logs. Please see screen shot below. I tried to launch it once at around 2:40 PM.Karol wrote:Yes, it is possible.

BTW, I just have interesting findings:
1) If I re-install the program, check the box "Run FreeCommander XE" at final step, the program could be started without error.
2) If I launch it in any other way, e.g. double click the .EXE file, shortcuts, from Windows start menu, right click to run as admin, I will have the same error as described above.

Yes I'm sure. I'm sorry but I donated only 4 USD for the option to download only one version "FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 715 64-bit donor".joby_toss wrote:@guogin: latest donor version available "yesterday" (when you downloaded) was 730. Re: Unable to launch the program
My best guess is that your mcafee is corrupting the download or is interfering with the installation process.
Re: Unable to launch the program
If you have FreeCommander.exe.manifest file in the install folder - try to rename the file.
Re: Unable to launch the program
What a magic. That solves my problem. Thank you.Karol wrote:If you have FreeCommander.exe.manifest file in the install folder - try to rename the file.
