FEATURE REQUEST- Quick change settings
Current Version 762
Win 10 1709
I use freeCommander in several different ways with a combination of different layouts and settings. Switching layouts is easy but changing settings is not.
I keep several different settings files and I would like to simply double click on the one I want to use and have freeCommander swirch to those settings
OR have a menu choice of settings in freeCommander as like layouts.
Thank you for a program that I cannot use my system without.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST- Quick change settings
I suppose you could do this as workaround (but I am not sure):
1. Rename your ini FC settings file using a unique prefix: for example "myuniqueprefix_"
2. in Settings -> Programs -> Default Action associate for "myuniqueprefix_*.ini" a bat file that would contain something like this:
Everytime you double click on your special ini files, the bat file will first kill freecommander then restart with setting from that ini file.
I don't know it this works. It is just an idea.

taskkill /IM freecommander.exe
freecommander.exe /Ini=%1

For what reason do you have to switch the settings? Is something missing in layouts?I use freeCommander in several different ways with a combination of different layouts and settings. Switching layouts is easy but changing settings is not.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST- Quick change settings
I keep different favorite folders lists for different machines and other specific settings that layouts does not have.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST- Quick change settings
You can use 2 or more portable freecommander program folders with different settings.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST- Quick change settings
Thanks but as I said it's a feature request. Not looking for a workaround.
