SEARCH: view thumbs or open in explorer?

#1 Post by Tim_oz » 10.01.2019, 16:29

Is there a way to do some kind of (deep-down) file search and:
- see thumbnails of the found files, INCLUDING EPUBS, which the standard Windows Explorer does
- at least open the FOLDER of the found files in the standard explorer

I could entirely replace Windows Explorer with FC if only I could do this.
(Which would be good, because it constantly goes into 'not responding')

I can't really do much with the search if I can't quickly understand what I'm seeing with thumbnails, or at least open Windows Explorer to do that and other stuff.

TBH I am still on XP for the very reason that the search after XP was awful.

(Yeah, I know: no need to tell me all the reasons I should change. I'm quite happy)

I'm not sure about EPUBS, but you can export search results (3rd toolbar button) to main FC window - file list pane, where you can switch view to thumbnails too.

Argh...it's still difficult to use.

There doesn't seem to be a way of opening the FOLDER of a particular file in WINDOWS EXPLORER, which I need, since it can view epub thumbnails.
