Windows 7 64x FreeCommander XE 2019 Build 790a 32-bit public.
In the tree panel the folder "new pics" shows up but not in the large panel, I have looked through all the properties of the folder and it is the same as all the other folder which are showing up.
I have enabled view hidden files/folders for both tree and large panel even thou the folder is not hidden.
If I click on "new pics" folder in the tree panel it opens it up in the large panel (just out of interest)

Re: folder not showing in up, can't figure out why.
The "Tree" and the "File/Folder list" have their own settings for hidden/system files.
Maybe this is the difference.
Check at
settings > File/folder list > Tab general
and
settings > Tree > Tab Management

Re: folder not showing in up, can't figure out why.
As far as I can see, these are folders which have been with me since xp. All the folders have something in common, they all had custom background pictures (cannot remember the name of the program I used to do it), the custom background was hidden and the desktop.ini file for that folder had a large size of 250kb compared to the usual 1 or 2 kb's. After removing those files, everything showed up in free commander.
