BUG - Locked tab title doesn't follow the folder name

#1 Post by stephen147 » 28.06.2019, 16:43

The current path is C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming

But the title shows AppData which is the folder of the locked path C:\Users\user\AppData which can be super confusing.

Can this follow the folder name like how the Lock tab - allow navigating to subfolders option does it or an option for this?

Note the comment below the "Tab name:" field in the "Tab properties" dialog: Leave empty for using current folder name

Thanks very much.

Would it be possible to have this as an option to disable this throughout in the settings?

I have made the change: now the field is always empty unless you define your own tab name.

Thanks for that. That'll be in 800?

I'm not sure it's a good solution. I'm using my own tab names for locked tabs, but if normal user just lock the tab Pictures and he has many tabs, it's clear for him, the tab is for #Pictures, but after the change it could be #2019-06-29, #New folder or similar, this could be confusing.

I think that you don't have to lock tab if you want to to navigate within the tab, you can change the options to close tabs, use layouts and all tabs, even unlocked, will be preserved - not closed after FC exit.

Maybe have it so that the locked tab name appears before the current name.

In my case in the OP or something similar.

Thanks for this.

Issue fixed for any new locked tabs, plus it's nice to be able to override the title should I wish.

Sorry, can this be reopened again?

See attached. The field is not empty by default in 800. For some strange reason, this seemed to work earlier.
