How to hide the display of the file extension?

#1 Post by SWatB_com » 05.03.2020, 21:40

How to hide the display of the file extension?
For example, instead of "name.jpg " depicted "name".

But there you can only configure for the "column" mode.
Is it possible to configure for other modes?
For example, for "Display all items as list", "Toggle between the current and Thumbnails view".

I'm not sure what you mean, you can create a standard suggestion in the Feature Requests forum.

Now the program settings show file extensions. For instance:
1.jpg
2.jpg
3.jpg

But it is necessary that only files are displayed. For instance:
1
2
3

This happened only in the "Toggles the folder tree display" mode, but it must be done with the "Display all items as list", "Toggle between the current and Thumbnails view" modes.

How to disable display of extensions for the "Display all items as list" and "Toggle between the current and Thumbnails view" modes?

As I said, it's impossible, or at least I don't know about such option.

Understood, thanks.
I take this opportunity to thank you for the program.
Very nice, beautiful and functional.
May the blessing of God be with you forever.

You're welcome, just to make sure, I'm not the FC author, it's Marek.

Low bow to all.
Since then, has there been a solution to the issue?

It is not an issue. It is intended.
I have no plans to change it.

Please add this optional feature.
So that we can choose to enable or disable the display of extensions.
Approximately as it is in the standard Windows Explorer.

Anyway, thanks for the program.
May the blessing of God be with all of you, always.

It was never a good idea from Microsoft to hide the known extensions.
Millions of viruses have been deployed on users with this settings.
I hope Marek will never add such a useless and dangerous option.
