Request: Operations queue | Do not Auto-start

#1 Post by jorgemarmo » 10.01.2021, 12:11

Hi, freecommander is just awesome.
recently I have being moving large files, and I started o use the Operations queue. I beleive it would be even better if it had an option to "start on demand" I would love to be able to create the queue and then hit "play" to start moving copying files, instead of suffering of laggy navigation when the queue is already running.

Thanks!

Workaround - If you copy or move files to the same location, you can use File container, just open new file container tab at right panel, copy the files to this container (F5), then open destination path at left panel, select all files in file container (Ctrl+A) and copy or move them to destination (F5 or F6).

BTW Don't know why the FC window is laggy, you can try the option "Perform operation using unbuffered I/O (recommended for very large file transfers)".

If this option is checked, copy processes are carried out with unbuffered I/O. This may be useful, if very large files are copied, because otherwise the Windows buffering can cause performance problems.

Hi @Dreamer,
Thank you for the answer.
I will give a try to FileContainer, but sometimes operations go to different locations.

I will also try unbuffered I/O

Thanks
