2 suggestions on (a) column autoresize and (b) row select

#1 Post by paravantis » 22.12.2007, 10:11

I field 2 suggestions:

(a) provide option to make column auto resize permanently, i.e. no need to press the columns auto resize keystroke every time you move to a new folder

(b) provide option to NOT select full row (i.e. select file or folder only when clicking on its name) so that when you click on empty space (grid) you go BACK up the tree.

BTW this is my 1st post on this forum, so it would be amiss to let the opportunity go by without congratulating Marek for his OUTSTANDING work on freeCommander.

I urge EVERYONE to donate so that they are able to download BETA releases.!

Happy holidays to everyone in the forum,

Hi John,

I make you a Christmas present :): try the not yet published option for row select. Define the line FullRowSelect=0 in the [Form] section of the freecommander.ini. It should work in the 2007.10a version too.

Merry Christmas

Column auto-resize?

#4 Post by paravantis » 13.02.2008, 08:40

What about the column auto-resize feature?

Any chances of programming it as an option?

Still no news with the column autoresize feature?

Any news on the column autoresize request?

It would be absolutely great if columns autoresized as we move from one folder to the other!

I would like to see auto column resize as well.

Also, pressing CTRL+ALT++ now always leaves the longest filename cut off when manually autoresizing. Double-clicking the space between the columns does not do this. It seems to not matter what font I use...it just wants to cut an extra pixel or two off of the longest filename.

Oh, I have completely forgot about this ini option, I thought it will be added also as normal option, it should be definitely added as option ASAP.

Edit: OK, I have tried it, it looks it works in Details view, but it's not working, whole "name" area is selected, just the other columns are not selected. In List view it's completely unusable.
