Currently the Splitter can be set to a position of 0 / 100, 25, 50 and 75%
How about making it able to be grabbed and just moved by how much a user needs? And after a quick double left-click or double middle-click executed on its empty area set it back to the default 50-50%; or to a default chosen in Settings by a given user?
I use a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor with the window of FreeCommander always being maximized- and when I need to manually / visually compare side by side content of two folders with short item names, in order for it to be effective I have to resize the overall window and then maximize it back, while also adjusting the not maximized mode beforehand. And there users with 32:9 monitors

Re: Freely adjustable Splitter
It is already possible for years, just use the left part of the splitter bar, left click and move, or left double click to set to to 50:50.

I must have dozed off when I was writing this
But still: how about making it possible to grab it by its empty space between its left and right edges, near the top and down of its column [and also on hozontal Separators]?
I just hate it when I have to aim precisely for any element that has as little as ~3 pixels of size

Re: Freely adjustable Splitter
It can be changed to 2 - 12 pixels in Settings - View - General.
Re: Freely adjustable Splitter
Unfortunately that is 2-12 pixels x2 of horizontal space that a user will loose for a bloated element
