After going to
Tools > Settings > View > Status Bar > Content > Define Details
use will see a second popup window: Status bar fields
Problems with this window are:
1] It does not remember its size after closing; falling back to its default one the next time it is opened
2] It does not remember widths of its columns after closing; falling back to their default sizes the next time it is opened
3] The column of Text Color is hard to see as it not present by default but only when user decides to widen the Hint Pattern column; plus it often disappears when users manipulates the widths again
4] Values in Text Color use FreeCommander's internal codes instead of RGB palette numbers; which result with it being remotely informative to a user
5] The column of Hint Pattern displays in its one line what is present in a multiline box / field of Hint Pattern; thus showing a code in form a data constructed from will not be shown and is also hard to read
To sum up: that window has annoying issues with presenting its content and its Hint Pattern column may force user to do widening and horizontal scrolling exceeding width of screen
As an immediate / rudimentary step I propose moving the Text Color column to the left side [thus making it the first one] or to remove it entirely [because user is unable to change values in it from within Status Bar Fields window] - and by so making it obsolete for user to widen the Hint Pattern column
I am using FreeCommander XE 2023 Build 894 64-bit Donor Portable & Build 880 32-bit Public Installed on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 x64
