Custom Filters Disappearing

#1 Post by My712thLoginHandle » 08.09.2023, 14:26

Hello.
Am wondering if anyone has any thoughts to this. I noticed this twice.
I can make a custom profile for search. It will work for days/weeks. Then one day, POOF. Not custom profile listed in search's drop box.
Thoughts or methods I can try to restore them from a backup?
Thanks.

FreeCommander XE 2023 Build 880 32-bit public
I reply as fast as I can at times, else it could be days/weeks/months. What you call resurrecting posts, I call "responding on my time."

Has this been happening since forever or only recently?

For years now I have just 2 profiles and they are still there. But I almost never use them[ [And so if using them is what is causing this to you then I cannot attest to it nor disprove this as being the culprit]

I would say only been using a profile for more than a year. I had a profile for maybe a year. Then it was gone and as much as I tinkered to figure it out, just recreated it. Been fine now few months and then disappeared again. Which made me decide to see if it happened to anyone else.
I only update the program when a new public version is posted.
On this particular laptop I been using Freecommander for almost two years.
I figured last night on a virtual to create filters as well, running on a W7 OS, and watch too.

I already have those backups, and I back them up with a program as well.
I added new filters and found they are added into FreeCommander.fav.ini. None of the backup files for over a month have the filters in that file. Weird.
I made a new backup from Freecommander. Manually backed up the FC backups, and when my own backup program runs tonight I will have double of the backups of these settings today.
Will see what happens from here.

The search filters saved in a profile in search, which I found are in FreeCommander.fav.ini.
