When using multi rename to do a Search/replace, a couple of times the dot before the file extension has been changed, rendering the file meaningless to the OS.
I know there is a tickbox (checkbox) for "Exclude extension", but it is deselected by default, which I believe is a dangerous and unwise default setting.
I would like the "Exclude Extension" option to be set to true by default.
It is the sensible thing to do.
Multi rename - protecting file extensions
Re: Multi rename - protecting file extensions
I agree, perhaps it could be changed to "Include extension" and it should be disabled, so extension would be excluded by default.
Workaround - just click the option and press Esc, then open Multi rename again and it's saved.
