Prevent tree from auto-refreshing

I have a simple question: I don't like the refreshing of the tree pane. I have some long folders so if I want to do something in the tree I need to close them before I can see the other folders. I just want the tree to remain as it is regardless of what I am doing in the folder panes. Also, upon startup I would like the tree to be the same as when I left it. Is that possible?

In the x64 Donor version, it's simple.
Just disable "Follow location changes in the active panel"
