The 'Name' column without extension

#1 Post by davidn » 22.10.2007, 07:46

Hello,

It would be nice if there was a possibility to create the 'Name' column with file names without extensions. I like to have extensions aligned in a separate column. Now, extensions are displayed in both the 'Name' and 'Extension' columns.

Best Regards,
David

I also need this.
Hope the developers add it. The program is great.

I agree with this. Extensions good to be in separate column. When together with name, then it's not look good and i like sort files by extensions...

Be sure, I am missing also a separate colomn with the file extentions.
And a ftp-client.

After that, I am happy.

For a separate "extension column" go to extras > settings > view > custom colums and define your own profile for detailed view with a "extension column".

#8 Post by Johan G. Smits » 18.01.2008, 10:28

Thanks Ralf, but it don't work.
Yes, I can fill-in the colomn: Profile name.
But the colomn: Colomns is closed. No field can be selected.

In the settings-dialog "custom columns" you have to do the following steps:
  • click on the icon "add to list" (the blue star)
type in a name for your Profile name
    enter
click on the icon "define profile" (the hammer)
    you get the dialogbox "colums"
click on the icon "add to list" (the blue star)
    select "extension" in the "content-box"
    chose the orientation am width
    enter (or define other columns)
(I think the wrong title when you change the content is a little bug, but it doesn't matter)

As soon as you have "name" and ext." you would expect also for "name only" :)

It still can't show the filename without the extension in one column. It's the last thing missing for me before I switch to this great tool.
